Will Klatt is a labor and community organizer based out of Columbus, Ohio. He was involved in the reformation of Students For a Democratic Society. At Ohio University Klatt was a leader in the fight for budget accountability and was one of the primary organizers for the Vote of No Confidence in the Ohio University President. 78% of the 4700 students who voted in the 2008 student senate election voted no confidence in the Ohio University Administration. As a result of student, faculty, and labor unrest, Ohio University President was forced to step back from the day to day operations of the university, and was to focus primarily on fund-raising for Ohio University.
Upon graduation from Ohio University, Klatt helped organized the youth coalition to oppose the G20 in Pittsburgh, PA in 2009. 3000+ students and youth participated in the demonstrations and subsequent riots. Over 200 youth were arrested on the final night of the G20. Klatt then went on to work for organized labor with SEIU and AFSCME for a year, before leaving to rejoin the student movement in 2010. Klatt was involved in the national organizing for the March 4th day of Action for Higher Education, which resulted in strikes occupations walkouts and rallies in 36 states on march 4 2010. Klatt was one of the primary coordinators for the October 7th national Ad-Hoc Coalition to Defend Public Education. (defendeducation.org)
